New Land

It’s been awhile since my last post, but I’m going to try my best to keep this updated from here on out.

I’m currently stationed in Madrid, Spain, visiting my girlfriend for the next 2 weeks. She is studying abroad in order to wrap up her International MBA degree.

Life couldn’t be much better than it is right now. Two weeks off of work and a job lined up for me when I get home. So, this time will be used for venturing, relaxation, and of course, sangria-ing.

Today is a day of recovery, as Manelay has a lot of class, but tomorrow and the days following will be packed with museums, city tours, partying, Paris, Barcelona, and much more.

Relaxing weekend

So I’ve been traveling nearly all summer long on the weekends. Working all week and then hoping on a plane is fun but can get very exhausting. Since starting at Citizens on May 1st, I’ve been to Boston, Los Angeles, Arkansas, Boston, Arkansas, and Philadelphia. Two weekends in there I stayed home in Rhode Island.

Needless to say this weekend of getting to do absolutely nothing was welcomed with open arms. I’ve been saving up my work money all summer which is a good thing but I decided that it was time to make a best buy/gamestop trip and spend a little bit of money on some things.

I’ve been wanting to buy a nice external hard drive for a couple of years now. My old one is from 2004 and it still has a power supply and all of that old school gibberish. So I gave in and bought a 500 GB Western Digitial Passport at Best Buy. They had the silver one on sale for $109. Now I have enough room to time machine my entire macbook hard drive on it and still have 300 gig’s of space for movies, music, tv shows, and pictures.

I hadn’t bought a Wii game in a long time so I decided to pick up the new Wii Sports Resort. It’s been a ton of fun so far, as the new Wii Motion Plus is a great addition to the Wiimote.

On Saturday I decided to go through some old games and brought them into gamestop for some trade ins. I traded in 6 old games for $95 so I bought COD: World at War and Street Fighter 4 with my credit. Paying only $4 for two new games is always a good feeling.

So I basically played a combo of COD, Wii Sports Resort, NHL 09, and Street Fighter 4 the entire weekend. And it was well worth it.

Oh, I did partake in my first even cooking adventure on Saturday night when I cooked some Cioppino and it was amazing. I even had the leftovers for dinner tonight also. Epic win.

Onto a new week and then meeting up with Manelay at the lake for my birthday weekend!

I’ll try to keep my blog updated more frequently from here on out.
